Stress Management Course
We can all feel stressed at times. This group programme will explore what stress is and its impact on our well-being. We will look at what stress does to our body, our minds and our behaviour and how we can help ourselves. A mixture of knowledge and insight coupled with useful strategies and tips and tools that can be integrated into daily life, this course aims to to help you better understand your own personal stress triggers and cope better with stressful periods or situations as well as how you can improve your well-being to increase your resilience to stress.
Run over six weeks on Wednesdays starting 19th April from 10.30am – 12pm, this group will help you with insight and practical things to better cope with stress.
- Week one: What is stress, what are the signs of stress, what do we find stressful – exploring our triggers.
- Week two: Stress and the body – what happens to our body when we are faced with a stressful situation, how we hold stress in our bodies and how we can learn how to release stress hormones.
- Week three and four: Stress, the mind and behaviour – how our thinking can hinder or help our stress response and looking at our default behaviours and what we could do differently.
- Week five and six: Our well-being – the well-being circle and what we can change, our sleep patterns, what’s important to us and help you to make plans about how to implement what you have learnt from the course into your day to day life.
Each week we will build on our understanding of stress and incorporate different ways we can help ourselves. Each session will include a short visualisation or relaxation that can be easily incorporated into daily life.
